Recombinant EEF1B2 protein

EEF1B2 (Eukaryotic Translation Elongation Factor 1 Beta 2), also called EEF1B, is specifically transcribed in fetal brain and in skeletal muscle. It is a guanine nucleotide exchange factor involved in the transfer of aminoacylated tRNAs to the ribosome. EF-1-beta (EEF1B2) and EF-1-delta (EEF1D) stimulate the exchange of GDP bound to EF-1-alpha (EEF1A1/A2) to GTP. It may also mediate accelerated synthesis of free thiol-containing proteins in response to HC-induced oxidative stress by homocysteine (HC).
