TBK1 – TANK-binding kinase 1 is a regulator of the NF?B (NF?B p50 and NF?B p65) signaling pathway. NF?B signaling is controlled to a large extent by the sequestration of the NF?B complex in the cytoplasm by its association with one of the I?B family of proteins. I?B is phosphorylated by the IkB Kinase (IKK) complex, resulting in the degradation of I?B and the nuclear translocation of NF?B. TANK is an I?B family member that is specifically recognized and phosphorylated by TBK1, leading to the destruction of TANK and the activation of the NF?B pathway.
