Histone H3K4me3 antibody (pAb)
Histone H3 is one of the core components of the nucleosome, the basic building block of chromatin. Methylation of histone H3 at lysine 4 is linked to transcriptional activation through the recruitment of a number of downstream effector proteins (CHD1, Isw1, ING2, WDR5). At least one protein that selectively binds histone H3 trimethylated at lysine 4 has also been reported (NURF301). Trimethyl lysine 4 is enriched at the transcriptional start site of activated genes. Lysine 4 methylation is dependent upon the monoubiquitylation of the C-terminus of histone H2A.
