NB: To verify the response to the vaccine, the neutralising antibody test should only be performed at least 10 days after the administration of the second dose of the vaccine.

There are 3 main uses for neutralising antibody tests:

  1. Monitor or detect prior COVID-19 infection
  2. Confirm if someone has produced an immune response following infection
  3. Monitor antibody vaccine response

What is SARS-CoV-2 Neutralizing Antibody?
Infection with SARS-CoV-2 inititates an immune response, which includes the production of antibodies, or binding antibodies, in the blood. Not all binding antibodies can block cel- lular infiltration and replication of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. The subpopulation of the binding antibodies that can block cellular infiltration and replication of the virus are named neutralizing antibodies.

Why test SARS CoV 2 Neutralizing Antibody?
The SARS-CoV-2 Neutralizing Antibody test can be used to evaluate the immunity of the human body to the new coronavirus after natural immunization, and can also be used to evaluate the effectiveness of whether protective neutralizing antibodies are produced in the body after vaccination.

What are the differences with COVID-19 IgG/IgM antibody test?
COVID-19 IgG/IgM antibody test focus on whether patient was infected with the virus and at which stage. Neutralizing antibody test focus on whether there are neutralizing antibodies that protect the human body by blocking cellular infiltration and replication of the virus.

neutralising antibody rapid test is a lateral flow test that detects SARS-CoV-2 IgG antibodies from a small finger prick of blood in only 15 minutes.

There are 3 main uses for neutralising antibody tests:

  • Confirm if someone has produced an immune response following infection
  • Monitor antibody vaccine response

    PERFORMANCE CHARACTERISTICS

    Clinical Performance using MNA50 titer as the comparator method with samples from vaccinated individuals and healthy unvaccinated individuals.

    A total of 44 samples were collected from vaccinated individuals (Inactivated SARS-CoV- 2 Vaccine), and healthy unvaccinated individuals (26 MNA50 positive and 18 MNA50 negative) and were evaluated with the SARS-CoV-2 Neutralizing Antibody Test.

    Relative Sensitivity: 26/(0+26) = >99.9% (95%*CI: 89.1%~100.0%);
    Relative Specificity: 18/(18+0) = >99.9% (95%*CI: 84.7%~100.0%);
    Accuracy: (26+18)/(26+0+0+18) = >99.9%

    The novel coronaviruses belong to the β genus. COVID-19 is an acute respiratory infectious disease. People are generally susceptible. Currently, the patients infected by the novel coronavirus are the main source of infection; asymptomatic infected people can also be an infectious source. Based on the current epidemiological investigation, the incubation period is 1 to 14 days, mostly 3 to 7 days. The main manifestations include fever, fatigue and dry cough. Nasal congestion, runny nose, sore throat, myalgia and diarrhea are found in a few cases.
    The SARS-CoV-2 Neutralizing Antibody Test (Whole Blood/Serum/Plasma) is a rapid test that utilizes a combination of Spike protein antigen coated colored particles for the detection of neutralizing antibodies to SARS-CoV-2 in human whole blood, serum or plasma.
