LoVo nuclear extract

Active Motif's LoVo nuclear extract was prepared from cell cultures of the human colon adenocarcinoma LoVo nuclear cell line. The LoVo cell line was derived from a metastatic nodule in the left supraclavicular region of a 56 year old Caucasian male patient with adenocarcinoma of the colon. These cells display an epithelial morphology and retain the characteristics of their tissue of origin, including the expression of carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), the formation of acinar structures, and the presence of microvilli and desmosomes. Because these cells retain the properties of malignant intestinal cells, they are most commonly used in research as in vitro models for colorectal cancer to study tumorigenicity, cytotoxicity, and pharmacodynamics.
