Tranylcypromine hemisulfate

Active Motif's Tranylcypromine hemisulfate is an irreversible inhibitor of lysine-specific demethylase 1 (LSD1/BHC110) (IC50 less than 2M). Tranylcypromine treatment of P19 embryonal carcinoma cells resulted in global increase of H3K4 methylation along with transcriptional derepression of two BHC110 target genes, Egr1 and Oct4. When combined with CHIR99021, it induces the generation of human-induced pluripotent stem cells in the absence of Sox2. Tranylcypromine hemisulfate reduces proliferation, cell cycle progression and invasiveness of endometriotic stromal cells. It also upregulates CD86 expression in THP1 cells. It is cell permeable and active in vivo.
