ZR-75-1 nuclear extract
Active Motif's ZR-75-1 nuclear extract was prepared from cell cultures of the human breast carcinoma ZR-75-1 cell line. The ZR-75-1 cell line was derived from a malignant effusion in a 63-year old Caucasian female patient with infiltrating ductal carcinoma. These epithelial-like cells express both wild type and mutant receptors to estradiol, receptors to progesterone, as well as other steroids. In addition, high levels of mRNA expression of the human tumor antigen MUC-1 has been observed in ZR-75-1 cells. The ZR-75-1 cell line is commonly used in research as in vitro model for studies of breast cancer tumorigenicity and related drug therapies, such as tamoxifen.
