Background
MINK1 (Misshapen Like Kinase 1) is a serine/threonine kinase which acts as a negative regulator of Rasrelated Rap2-mediated signal transduction to control neuronal structure and AMPA receptor trafficking. MINK1 is required for normal synaptic density, dendrite complexity, as well as surface AMPA receptor expression in hippocampal neurons. MINK1 can activate the JNK and MAPK14/p38 pathways and mediate stimulation of the stress-activated protein kinase MAPK14/p38 MAPK downstream of the Raf/ERK pathway. Diseases associated with MINK1 include Alzheimer Disease 15 and Shipyard Eye.

Application Notes
This product was manufactured as described in Protein Details. Where possible, Active Motif has developed functional or activity assays for recombinant proteins. Additional characterization such as enzyme kinetic activity assays, inhibitor screening or other biological activity assays may not have been performed for every product. All available data for a given product is shown on the lot-specific Technical Data Sheet.
